Alex at 2 weeks

Changes in two weeks since the first visit, that is...

  • he is speaking in simple sentences to us (which sometimes we understand and often we don't)
  • he speaks three English words (OK, sit, maybe balloon)
  • he has pointed to and named Maria and Julia in the family book, saying their names
  • he has called us Mama and Papa (although he prefers Dahduh for Jerry)
  • he is making more eye contact
  • he is sitting and concentrating more (he really looked at two books today, like he understood now what a book is for)
  • he wants to do more things himself (esp eat the kasha!)
And what has always been the case over these two weeks...
  • he smiles excitedly when he sees us
  • he smiles and laughs at our interactions, esp. playful ones
  • he does not like us leaving
  • he is strong and shows that to us in all kinds of ways
  • he is a bright eyed little boy
He is a sweetheart in so many ways.

Court is tomorrow.  We'll update when we can--it may not be immediately.  Please pray for us.

Peace, Susan

  1. Oh, to see those changes just in 2 weeks is amazing! I cannot get over how sweet he is. I am nervous for you. We are praying here, and I am setting my alarm to pray for you tonight, too- 3:30 our time! :) God bless you, Susan and Jerry, and may the Lord give the judge wisdom, discernment, and knowledge that a speedy process is a blessing to all of you!!!
